Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMINNEL REID September 4, 1923 - May 24, 2016 It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Minnel Reid, our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was predeceased by her parents, her brothers, Albert, Art, Alex and Frank, their wives, niece Doreen, and nephew Clinton. Left to cherish her memory are Rod (Joy), Terrill (Stephanie), Russell, Owen, Aaron (Elizabeth), Harlie, Zoe, and many close, loving friends and step-family. She was born in Treherne, Manitoba, to Walter and Emma Waldon. She attended West Treherne School and later worked for the Manitoba Telephone System. She married Erle Outhwaite in December 1943. They raised their two wonderful children, Rod and Harlie. She was a life member of the Anglican Church and was active in choir, Sunday School and A.C.W. She was also involved in many other activities over the years, including the Sons of Scotland, teaching Stretch and Sew, volunteering at Hospice, soup kitchen and the South Okanagan Caring Clowns. She married Dr. W. S. Reid in 1976 and was widowed in 1990 in Victoria. She moved to Penticton in 1995, where she passed away at the age of 92. The family would like to thank all those who helped her over the past few years with her health issues, including those at Interior Health and Hospice. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choosing.
