I met Rick, although I live in BC, in Northern Ireland in 1999 when he came over to work for our company when we where installing sawmill machinery for a new mill in the Town of Enniskillen. Rick came over not knowing what to expect from the surroundings as the project was already underway, and he was going to be working for a new company and entirely new crew who he did not know, truly a brave and confident sole he was. As for all the people that knew him prior to this date, I'm sure you knew he would be just fine. As it turned out Rick and I were the last two people on the job. Took a few days off and played golf with friends we met and worked with from Northern Ireland. Certainly I have been in contact with the fellow and his wife were we stayed while on the end of our stay and enjoyed there friendship and their home. Paul and Liz sent their condolences to Dee and Family. Rick you are a Great Friend! One of the best I knew! - Posted by: Garth Byers (Friend) on: Jun 15, 2016

We only had the good fortune of getting to know Rick in the last 7 or 8 years of his life. What else could we do? Another Rick and Denise! The possibilities were endless. In the all too short time we did know him we found a gentleman. And a gentle man. Rick built a carrier for my mobility scooter so that I could go for an afternoon motorcycle ride with him and Peter in the Arizona mountains. I'll never forget the ride, or the man. - Posted by: Rickey and Denise Keep (Cousins (in law)) on: Jun 14, 2016

I have been a friend of Rick's and his family for the better part of my life. In the last few years I've been seeing him during the winter in Phoenix and it made me realize why I spent so much time with him in my younger years. He has always had a certain joie de vivre and positive outlook on life that rubbed off on all those around him. I will miss my friend. Rest in peace buddy. Sandy and I would like to offer our condolences to Dee, Carmen, Susan and families. Maurice Lavergne - Posted by: Maurice Lavergne (lifelong friend) on: Jun 14, 2016

We met and worked together starting in the late 90's. In construction it seems everyone has a nickname, his was "tugboat", which he is still known by to all the guys from the old days. He was a great co-worker and a better friend. Our days working together were much more successful than our days hunting together, as fewer trucks were stuck in the muskeg while we were working! He lived life on his terms and will be missed by so many. - Posted by: scott stuchberry (friend) on: Jun 13, 2016
