Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJACK (JACOB) KLIPS November 30, 1930 - June 10, 2016 After a lengthy illness Jack, beloved husband of Joan (née Andrusiak), passed away peacefully on June 10, 2016 at Park Manor Care Home. He was predeceased by his mother Augusta, brother Wilfred, father and mother-in-law Mike and Mary Andrusiak, brother-in-law Art Elwin, nephew John Elwin, and cherished grandson Cameron Connor McLeod Jr. Lovingly remembered by his wife of nearly 64 years, Joan; children Barbara (Cameron) McLeod, Lauren (Blake) Delgaty, Keith Klips, Gary (Darlene) Klips, Leslie (Larry) Wishlow and Jacqueline (Michael) Hryciuk; grandchildren Jessica (Scott) Nelson, Michelle Klips, Michael Delgaty, Steven Klips, Morgan McLeod, Alexander Wishlow, Sidney and Lucas Hryciuk, great-grandson Scott Cameron Nelson Jr.; sister Olive Doreen Elwin; sister-in-law Elaine (Dan) Trochim; niece Edie (Hans) Jud; nephew Christopher Elwin; nieces Carole (Chad) McMillan and Lisa Trochim; great-nieces and nephews Jennifer, Brandon, Tyler, and Ryan Elwin and Emily McMillan. A kind, gentle and honest man, Jack was born and raised in Transcona. At a young age, he started work at the CN shops and then worked as a fireman on the CN Railway. He later found his true vocation in sales, advertising and marketing. Jack and Joan shared a lifelong love, together building a beautiful family legacy. A dedicated son, husband, son-in-law, father and family man, Jack treasured his children and grandchildren and had special relationships with each of them. He proudly and enthusiastically watched his children and grandchildren grow into fine people and participated in as many of their activities as possible. Jack was passionate about sports and was involved in mentoring and coaching many young hockey players in our community. He loved Grand Beach, the pink cottage on the corner, the boardwalk and lounging in the sun. He was a graceful swimmer, looked forward to his annual fishing trips with the boys, skating, curling, golfing, movies, music, gardening, his home, chocolate and ice cream. He spent many special times in Vancouver and Penticton and never missed an opportunity to cheer on his own future hockey greats'. Jack treasured traditional family celebrations, his neighbourhood friends and good times with best friend Dick Shore. Jack's family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Park Manor Care Home for their many years of compassionate care, love and attention to Dad (and Mom). A Celebration of Life honouring Jack will be held on Friday, June 24, 2016, at 12:30 p.m., at the Canad Inn, Ambassador Room B, 826 Regent Avenue West, Transcona. Family interment at Transcona Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Park Manor Care Home, New Facility Fund. Forever Loved.
