Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARTIN KELLER January 6, 1944 - June 20, 2016 It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Martin, aged 72 years, peacefully with his loving wife by his side. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 52 years, Carol; children, Dwayne (Rhonda), Keith, Roger and Tanis (Chris); grandchildren, Cameron, Brittany, Taylor and Carley. Martin was predeceased by his parents Leona and Rudolph Keller. Martin was born on January 6, 1944 and was raised on the family farm in Camp Morton, Manitoba. He met and married his high school sweetheart Carol Panteluk. They moved to St. Andrews to raise their family. He had many fond memories of visiting, playing cards and snowmobiling with family and friends in the neighbourhood. He had a love of all cars and trucks and was proud to call himself a Dodge man. He had a special fascination with the diesel engine. He enjoyed spending time in the garage rebuilding engines and transmissions or puttering around. Martin and Carol bought a hobby farm where they farmed 80 acres and enjoyed going to auction sales to purchase all the needed equipment. He spent many hours in his garden, planting and harvesting many vegetables to share with family and friends. Martin was a family man and treasured his wife, children and grandchildren and had special relationships with each and every one of them. Martin worked at Pritchard Engineering for 18 years, followed by 35 years at Western Turbo. Martin was well respected in his field and made many lifelong friendships. Martin will be warmly remembered as a selfless, kind and gentle spirit who always put others first. We will always treasure and miss his great sense of humor and the way he loved to tell jokes and tease. Strong, compassionate and generous, Martin always showed concern for others and gave freely of himself. Eulogy will be said at 10:30 a.m. with Mass to follow at 10:45 a.m. on Friday, June 24, 2016 in the St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church in Middlechurch, Manitoba with Father David Kowalski officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Martin's memory may be made to St. Benedict's Cemetery, Box 103, Camp Morton, MB or to the Canadian Cancer Society of MB. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
