Céline was born July 29, 1924 as the first of ten children to Rose and Félix Paradis in Dunrea, Manitoba. Céline enjoyed time with her family throughout her long life. When she was younger she helped raise her brothers and sisters and delighted in reminiscing about this time in her life. Céline was predeceased by her husbands, Hon. Marcel Boulic and Albert Pauwels and step daughter Marilyn Pauwels Watson. She is survived by her stepdaughters Sylvia (Jay) Downey and Linda (Rick) Jansen; son-in- law Tom Watson; along with granddaughters, Gina (Rodney) De Vos, Tanya (Thomas) Piekarski, Sandra (Steve) Jansen Kaban and Crystal (Nate) Jansen. She also leaves great-grandchildren Colton (Alicia) De Vos and Brielle Jansen Kaban; and one great great-grandson Desmond De Vos. Céline leaves behind her brothers, René (Eva), Gabriel (Sharon) and Lionel; sisters-in- law, Irene, Monique, Albina and Irene; brother- in-law Marcel; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Jeannine Landry and Lucile (Bertrand) Lafreniere; her brothers, Jean, Alphonse, Leonard, and Normand and sister-in-law Jeanne Huyghe. Céline enjoyed growing up in Dunrea and recalled fondly gaining her love for reading by time spent with her father. She moved to St. Boniface as a young adult and cherished her time working with the nuns at St. Boniface Hospital especially helping with the smallest of baby patients for several years in the nursery. Céline married Marcel Boulic in 1948 and enjoyed life both in Notre Dame de Lourdes and Winnipeg when Marcel was elected as a MLA. Marcel's daughter Sylvia became an important person in her life and she enjoyed becoming a parent. After Marcel passed suddenly in 1959, Céline returned to Notre Dame de Lourdes. Later on once again living in St. Boniface, she returned to work this time at St. Boniface Clinic as a receptionist for several years. There she met Albert Pauwels and married into his family as he had two daughters Linda and Marilyn. Together Céline and Bert travelled many places together, enjoyed gardening around their home, and time at Lester Beach. After Bert's passing in 1992 Céline was able to continue at Lester Beach for many more years thanks to the support from her family members especially Lucile and Bay along with Jeannine and Marcel who all cottaged in this area. Céline travelled with friends into her seventies and enjoyed these adventures. In her later years the activities within Chateau Guay her apartment building were highlights for her. For the last almost five years Céline appreciated the care and social community of Actionmarguerite St. Boniface and the family wishes to thank the staff for their care and compassion especially from the staff of 3ABC. Service will be held on Friday June 24 at 1:00 PM, Précieux-Sang Roman Catholic Church, 200 Kenny Street. Flowers gratefully declined. Please consider a donation to Actionmarguerite Foundation directed for St. Boniface, 185 Despins Street, Winnipeg, MB R2H 2B3 (204- 233-3692 Ext 643).
