Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryERIC UELAND October 7, 1963 - June 25, 2016 On the morning of June 25, 2016 Eric passed away, after a year long battle with cancer. Eric was 52 years old. Eric was born October 7, 1963 in Dryden, Ontario. He was the third child and second son of Walter and Lorraine Ueland. Eric will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife Margaret, whom he was married to for 22 years; his son Justin and daughter Diana. Eric is also survived by his mother Lorraine, brother Guy, sister Lillian, as well as numerous relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father Walter. For 23 years Eric was a Long Haul Truck Driver, and he loved every minute of it. He travelled all over North America from north to south, east to west. His favourite times were when he had his trusty partner and son Justin with him. Eric took Justin on his first trucking trip when Justin was five and they went every holiday and break until Justin graduated school. For Eric to be able to share his love for trucking with Justin and give Justin the experiences of exploring new places with him, was a gift he never took for granted. Eric was a man of great faith. He had a deep rooted love for God. If he wasn't on the road, then he could be found either sharing his relationship with God, repairing something at church, or attending church singing hymns and praise songs. Eric loved attending church and getting the opportunity to see his daughter Diana playing the drums in the worship and praise band, or watching a moving liturgical dance performed by her. He was extremely proud of Diana and their love for God bonded them in a way that was very special. Professionally, Eric had many accomplishments that afforded him opportunities to work in diverse areas of the trucking industry. One of Eric's most rewarding jobs was being a Class 1A Instructor. He was a great teacher with unlimited patience and a sincere desire to see his students succeed. He would often spend extra hours at night and on weekends with a student ensuring they would pass their exam the first time, and were confident in their abilities. At this time we wish to thank and acknowledge some key people who have been instrumental in Eric's journey. First Dorothy Bell and Rev. David Labdon for their incredible support and spiritual wisdom. To the St. Aidan's Anglican Church family, Winnipeg, and LHM Church family, New Glasgow, NS, your prayers were the fuel that kept him going. To Bill, Sigrid, and Rod McKee, Sheri and Les Kovacs. Diane and Percy Bacha, and Michaela De Vasconcelos your never ending care, love and support helped Eric keep his spirits up and his faith strong. Eric's Memorial Service will be at St. Aidan's Anglican Church, 274 Campbell Street, Thursday, June 30, at 2:00 p.m. Donations may be made to St. Aidan's Church: Worship and Praise Ministry. What a beautiful tribute to Eric's life, love and relationships! The Riives and Ueland families became fast friends when our family moved to Dryden in 1970. As is often the case, children mature and go separate ways, so it was touching to hear that Eric lead a fulfilling, having a great love of God and family. My sincere (and belated) condolences to Eric's wife, children and family. - Posted by: Diana Madussi (Riives) (Family friend) on: Jun 29, 2022

Eric was my brother, we may have not gotten along well sometimes, but I loved him always. He always had a quirky sense of humor and loved his family. He and I were raised outside of Dryden, Ontario and in 1971 moved to live in Dryden. We both had musical leanings, him with guitar and singing and myself with bass guitar. He was an excellent guitar player. I will miss the times we jammed together. He was a bother with a big heart. I will miss my little brother always. - Posted by: Guy Ueland (Brother) on: Sep 23, 2017
