Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGLENN HUNTER DOUGLAS ROGERS We are sad to announce the passing of Glenn Hunter Douglas Rogers on June 25, 2016, at Concordia Hospital. He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 56 years Maxine; children, Doug and his wife Michelle, Kathie and her husband Robin; and grandchildren, Keegan and his wife Chelsea, and Jadyn. Glenn was predeceased by his sister Dorothy and brother-in-law Ralph Donnelly. The son of Douglas and Ileen Rogers, Glenn was born in Gladstone, Manitoba on March 20, 1934. In his youth, Glenn became a talented musician playing trumpet and trombone and his love and appreciation of music continued throughout his life. He enjoyed playing hockey and swimming, becoming a lifeguard at Phantom Lake where he met and fell in love with Maxine. Later, Glenn enjoyed playing tennis, badminton, racquetball and golf. During the summer, Glenn loved spending time with Maxine and family members at their cabin in Clear Lake. After finishing school, Glenn worked as a miner, lifeguard and as a constable with the RCMP before beginning his career with the Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company, where he remained until his retirement. Glenn loved to travel with his family throughout Canada and the US. After retirement, Glenn and Maxine spent much of the winter in Phoenix each year and traveled to Kelowna each summer. Glenn's dedication to and willingness to support his family and friends defined his character and will be sorely missed. The family would like to thank the staff at Concordia Hospital for their attentive and compassionate care during his stay. A celebration of Glenn's life will be held at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens on July 2, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Glenn can be made to the charity of your choice.

My big brother is the world's best big brother AND the best trumpet player I know. Maxine & Glenn are the most genuine, generous people I know. - Posted by: Garry Rogers (Brother) on: Aug 08, 2019

Glenn was our claims manager in Moncton, N.B. when I was starting my career at Wawanesa Ins. As a young man in my early 20s, for me just starting out, he was a big influence in shaping my career. We had some wonderful meetings and he always had me answer my own questions. He knew that I had the answers, but needed to grow my confidence, in order to carry my decisions forward. He smoked a pipe back then although it was rarely lit, I think that he used it more to chew on and as a prop. He was also very patient with his staff and you knew that he had "always" had your back. If you went a bit off track, he always had a soft one liner to help you realign. Although he moved on and I have not seen him for many years, I still often think of him. I went on to work for Wawanesa for 38 years and retired 2 years ago, his memory continues to live on with me. He did make a difference, to myself and the others that met and got to know him. My condolences to Maxine, his friends and family. - Posted by: Stephen MacConnell (Past employee of Glenn,s in Moncton) on: Jun 29, 2016
