HAZEL (LIZ) STEVENS It is with great sadness that we announce that Hazel Isabelle (Liz) Stevens, of Zurich, ON; formerly of Winnipeg, MB; has passed away after a brief illness, on Sunday, June 19, 2016. Our mother was predeceased by her parents, Walter Harold Mullen and Gertrude Mae (Woods) Mullen of Beeton, ON; and sisters, Jean and Margaret (Betty) Cruthers. Mom leaves behind Don, husband, soul mate, and love of her life, whose love was treasured. Exceptional son Larry (Lorna) of St. Mary's, ON, who were Mom's calm, her strength, and always there for her. Gentle and loving son, Todd (Denise) of Winnipeg. As Mom put it... "altogether they completed my life and made everything worthwhile". Daughter, Tanis (David) of Vancouver. Mom also leaves behind her brother, Bruce Mullen (Laverne) of Dutton, ON who was her pillar of strength as they grew up. Mom is also survived by her stepchildren Albert (Leslie), Susan (Raoul), David (Karen), and numerous grandchildren in both Manitoba and Ontario. Farewell to all the Stevens Clan, including Elaine (Jo Jo), and her husband, Don (Ft. Erie) who were always there with never ending love and support. To dear friends, Jim and Deanna Fawcett, with whom Mom and Dad spent several glorious winter vacations in Florida, she takes your love with her, and to her dear friend and neighbour, Barbara Coker. Mom worked to provide for us and retired from the Health Sciences Centre in 1996. Growing up in difficult times was made easier by Mom, as she would do anything for us and was always trying to provide us with more. The best part of growing up were the times that we were together as a family. Mom always enjoyed time with the family, either at the lake, in the backyard, or just playing cards after Sunday dinners. Mom continued the caring spirit with the numerous cats that we had growing up. Babe, Muffin, Misty, Tabby and all the others that crossed the Rainbow Bridge will now be with her forever. Special thanks to Dr. P. Englert, Nurse Practitioner Janice Hayter-Oke and the staff at Sakura House for giving Mom the strength and support that only you could give. Cremation has taken place, and inurnment with be at the Stevens family plot in Niagara Falls at a later date. On line condolences can be made at: Haskett Funeral Home Ltd. http://www.haskettfh.com In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society of Manitoba or the Winnipeg Humane Society.

Larry, Todd and Tanis, I am so sorry to hear that your mom passed away, Liz was a very kind caring lady, I love spending time at your house, playing board games with Larry, and looking after Todd, getting him ready for bed, and Tanis, I loved your smile, I missed you all when you all moved off to Haig, then a few years later we where together again.
