Maurice was truly 'one of a kind', and larger than life. We all hoped his incredibly positive attitude would kick cancer to the curb but it was not to be... May you be blessed with wonderful memories in the midst of the sadness. Rob and Joanne and boys - Posted by: Rob and Joanne Gordon (friends) on: Jul 08, 2016

Dear Donna and family, We last saw Maurice at the hospital in April at the Buehler Centre. Maurice was there for a doctors appointment as was I. He was his usual up beat self and we were happy to see him as our paths had not crossed in the chemotherapy clinic for some time. We were so sorry to hear of his passing. He was one of the first "chemo" friends we made. He was always so cheerful and positive even when he was suffering - such an inspiration to me. God bless you Maurice and ride on! See you on the other side. With sincere sympathy, Laverne & Lance Roberts. - Posted by: Laverne & Lance Roberts (Friends) on: Jul 06, 2016

My heartfelt condolences and those of all my TNR brothers to all of Maurice's family and friends. We grew as teens on the same street in St. Vital, and got to know each other much better in our adult years through my sister Donna marrying Maurice's cousin Ray Leclaire and spent many lunch time laughs at the Ile De Chenes Hotel...you will be missed my friend but your memory will live on, and all the TNR ( Thursday Night Riders) will ride with you again one day, on the other side of the Pearly Gates. my deepest sympathies Donna. I went to school with both you and Maurice, he was a true gentleman even then!. I ran into him many years later, after we moved to St. Adolphe. We had some conversations catching up. He will surely be rewarded at God's side. - Posted by: Kathy Dupuis () on: Jul 04, 2016

My deepest sympathies to all of you. My fondest memories of Ile De Chênes include Donna and Maurice. I will never forget how he was always ready to help people including myself. I remember buying my first new sled from him, riding with him and our weekends on the red river back and forth to the forks on the pontoon. There was only one Maurice Leclaire and what a great person he was. I am extremely grateful that I had the opportunity to know him and Donna as friends. Someone said that the community will never be the same without him I couldn't agree more. Rest In Peace my friend. - Posted by: Gerald Cyr (Friend) on: Jul 04, 2016

Our condolences to the family. I remember the good old days when we had our mini-sprint club at Crown Valley out in New Bothwell. Maurice and Jacques, Al Hildebrand, Rod Staff and others all raced, not against each other, but together as a club. Maurice was a good driver and a lot of fun to be with. We were not just a race club, but a family where we helped each other out when in need. We have lots of great memories of those days. Rest in peace Maurice, you will be missed by many. Repose en paix, Maurice. Tu es dans les bras de Jesus. - Posted by: Jacques and Darlene Sorin (Jacques and Maurice were both mini-sprint drivers from Crown Valley.) on: Jul 04, 2016
