Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHRISTIANE MOLUND On July 1, 2016, Christiane Molund left us to be reunited with her beloved husband Vicktor. She is survived by her sister Diane; children Paul (Janice), Debra (John), John (Sharon) and Karen (Ben); grandchildren Laura (Herman), Teresa, Ellen (Mark), Stefan (Mara), Phillip, Robert, Sarah (Dion) and Zachary (Kelsey); great-grandchildren Vivienne, Madeleine and Jacob; and her caregiver and loving friend Verlina. Christiane was predeceased by her husband, Vicktor in 2007; her parents, Lilli and Heinz; her infant twins, and daughter-in-law, Grace. Christiane was born on September 24, 1932 in Berlin, Germany. She endured a difficult childhood in Germany during the Second World War, but managed to maintain optimism throughout her life. She lived in England before immigrating to Canada in 1952. Christiane met Vicktor while working at the University of Manitoba. She invited him to go to a movie, and when he accepted, she had to run out to buy the tickets! They married in 1961. Christiane was devoted to her family. Her greatest joy was being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to bake and was a master of cookies, cakes, cinnamon buns, strudels, and Dutch apple pie. She also enjoyed travel, singing, crafts, and was an avid Scrabble player. A celebration of Christiane's life will be held on Friday, July 8, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the United Church in Meadowood, 1111 Dakota Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba. The family would like to thank the staff at River Park Gardens for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christiane's favourite charity, Operation Smile. So sorry to hear of Christiane's passing. I know she and Vicktor (I worked with Vicktor at the UofM) had many long years of happy retirement planned in Whiterock, so unfortunate that was cut short. My condolences to the family of Christine Molund. She was always smiling and very pleasant to everyone she knew.. She and your Dad Viktor worked for my husband Terry Falconer at the U of M and we have many wonderful memories of those days. Namely poker night with the guys. Your mother would serve delicious food at all the games. Cherish your memories as this is what shall guide you and give you strength to carry on.
