Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE HENRY TAYLOR August 12, 1931 - July 5, 2016 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of George Henry Taylor. George will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years Bernice, daughters, Ellen (Andrew) and Janice (Bruce) and son Glen (Rose). He will be missed by his brother Robert (Joan) of Vancouver, his grandchildren, Ashley (Kyle), Aaron, Kirsten, Gabrielle, Katlyn and Thomas and great-grandchildren, Eisley and Copeland. His consistent love and attention was appreciated by all. George grew up proudly in the North End where his work experience started at Rudyks Grocery Store from which came many interesting stories; then CP Express, and retirement from Imperial Oil (Esso) after 27 years. George was a gentlemen and a genuine people person; interested in everyone that was part of his life. He was a very good listener, but he also had a way of embellishing his own stories. George had an appreciation for detail which was evident in his creative writing, how he composed himself and how he dressed. George had an interest in all sports and had a competitive edge when it came to playing hockey for the Tobins, fast ball for the CP Express, golf and volleyball at the annual summer tournaments at Matlock. He had a passion for capturing the moment either on his digital or video camera, which was followed by countless hours of editing and compiling of these events for family and friends. George was very committed to the United Church and his faith for many years. In 1977, two founding United Churches, Chalmers and Greenwood, amalgamated and formed McClure United Church. George, along with the McClure Property Planning Committee, was deeply committed to building a multi-purpose facility that would be a people place, providing McClure United Church members a place to worship and an enriched living residence for seniors. A celebration of George's life will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the McClure United Church, 533 Greenwood Place. If you so desire, donations may be made to CancerCare, 109-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, R3E 0V9, McClure Place Inc. or McClure United Church, 533 Greenwood Place, Winnipeg, R3G 3M1. We were saddened to learn of George's passing today. George and I worked together at Imperial Oil in the early 80's. It was my first job after University and he made me feel welcome. George demonstrated commitment, professionalism, empathy and a strong work ethic in everything he did. He had a great sense of humour and genuinely cared about others. Our deepest condolences to Bernice and family. - Posted by: John MacLise & Shelley Morris (Friend and former collegue) on: Jul 09, 2016

I was very fortunate to get to know Bernice and George at Colorado Estates, our residence on Ferry Rd. Wonderful people! George was always "on the go" busy doing errands, hobbies and very committed to his church. When you met him in the hallway or anywhere else he always took the time to stop and talk and inquire how "the day was going". Very friendly and a true gentleman! George, will be missed so much by his loved ones, his church friends and others who had the privilege of knowing him. - Posted by: Eileen Losier (Friend) on: Jul 09, 2016
