JEAN RUTH STEFANYSHYN
Date of Passing: Jun 30, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN RUTH STEFANYSHYN "With a tear in our eye we said goodbye" June 30, 2016, at approximately 3:00 p.m. the day that Jean Ruth Stefanyshyn has found her peace. A vibrant opinionated woman who spoke her mind, commanding respect, we all did not agree with, but understood the conviction set forth by her words she truly believed in. She lived a full and complete life and she asked God to take her back to her many siblings she lost in the last few short months. She is the last survivor of father Stan Barta Sr. and mother Julia Barta (Kot) both born in Poland and immigrating to Canada. Predeceasing her were brothers and sisters whom she loved dearly, Frank, Nellie, Stella, Marry, Rose, and the youngest Stan Jr.. She left behind two sons, John and Frank who will always remember their mother, and one unofficial adopted son Kane. She in the last few years lost a husband Tony who succumbed to cancer, leaving her with an emptiness in her heart. She leaves behind sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces and grandchildren, Steve, Robert, Frank Jr., Rocky, Peter, Zachariah, and Noah and great-grandchildren. If we have missed someone please understand the emptiness left in our hearts and understand you were close to our and Jean's heart. She worked at a variety of jobs, Pine Land Nursery, as a waitress, and at Shakespeare fishing supply. But most prominently will be remembered for her love of Bingo, VLTs and playing poker with her family and friends. At this time we have no definite plans as to a burial date. Other than to say cremation was her choice and has been carried out. We shall plan a wake in the near future and wish to ask in place of flowers, please donate to the Cancer Society of Manitoba. For as with her, flowers will soon wither and die, a donation will live on as our memories live on with and of her. We thank you all for your concerns and sorrow expressed in the last few days. Please understand we walk today with heavy hearts but are happy knowing full well Jean is now singing, playing cards, and visiting with her family and that has to make anyone smile. Goodbye Mom. We Love You.
