ESTHER LORETTA BEATRICE CARRIERE (nee LARENCE) September 17, 1933 - June 30, 2016 It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our mother Esther Carriere on June 30, 2016, peacefully with family by her side, at the age of 82 years. Mom will be sadly missed by her children, Larry (Lois), Wayne (Winnie), Ron (Monica), Sandra (John), Darlene, Lena (Albert), Kelly (Arliss), Holly, as well as her son-in-law Claude; grandchildren, Christina, Florence, Rachel, Lisa, Connie, Ryan, Luc, Riel, Shaun, Jennifer, Craig, Melanie, Candace, Ricky, Cheryl, Shauna, Cindi, Samantha, Derek, Stefanie, Scott and Sean; 20 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and her nephew/urn bearer Bob Lavallee. She also leaves to mourn, her sister Mildred "Cookie" (Gerry), her sister-in-law Helen Larence, her brother Kelly (Linda) and also Clarence Gould, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her husband George Carriere, her son Ken, grandson Edward and her best friend/cousin Audrey Burdett. Mom was born and raised in St. Laurent where she met and married her husband George on January 26, 1952, and together raised their nine children. Mom was better known as "Mommy" not only to friends but throughout the community. She not only raised her children but opened her home and heart to others as well. She was a housewife, great cook and was known for her amazing pies and baking. She loved to sew and took great pride in keeping a clean house and rarely sat still. She was well known for her smart and witty personality and liked to joke around and have fun. Anyone who stopped in was always welcome and you could find her listening to fiddle and old time music, especially on a Saturday night when she enjoyed listening to CFRY Portage. We, the family, would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Eriksdale Personal Care Home for the amazing care they gave Mom and for treating her like their own, as well as to the doctors and staff of the E. M. Crowe Memorial Hospital, and to the Home Care workers in St. Laurent. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2016, in the St. Laurent Roman Catholic Church with Father Paul Tinguely officiating. Prayers will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the church. Interment to follow in the St. Laurent Roman Catholic Churchyard Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mom's memory to the Parkinson Society of Manitoba, 7 - 414 Westmount Dr., Winnipeg, MB R2J 1P2. Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Condolences to all the family and my deepest sympathy - always loved her deeply - Posted by: Jeannine Boyer (Friend) on: Jul 10, 2016

  • Family was everything to Aunt Esther. She always had a smile and life anecdote to share with you. She loved to laugh and instilled laughter as a result. She has moved on to a better life where rest and health have been restored. I and my family will miss her greatly. Our best memories are of her smiling and laughing with us and other family members. Talented at home, and always helping others to get by, what a wonderful lady I have been privileged to know and love. Always thinking of you... we'll see you again. Love, Darrell, Pauline and Dinara. - Posted by: Darrell Lawrence (Nephew) on: Jul 08, 2016
