Condolences & Memories (11 entries)

  • Hello Gail, Garry and family, Several months have passed by. I just learned of Paul's passing as I was doing some reading on D-day. May he rest in peace knowing he touched the lives of many. As your life has changed with his death, may you take care of yourselves and each other. Many blessings, Jan - Posted by: Janine Ballingall Scotten (friend) on: Dec 06, 2016

  • Paul Martin and my Dad {Len Hargrave} were responsible for creating such a large scouting movement in Transcona I was a member of my Dad's troop {along with Peter Martin} and later joined Paul's troop as his assistant. Those days created wonderful memories for me. Mostly, I remember Paul as a caring person who provided guidance to me and helped shape the person I have become. Paul also had one of the most genuine smiles I have ever seen. His memory will stay with me always. - Posted by: Alan Hargrave (served as assistant to scoutmaster Paul Martin) on: Jul 12, 2016

  • Uncle Paul will always remain as my hero. He, and Aunt Enid gave gifts of wonderful books at Christmas, that would entice a young boy to enjoy reading. Later in life he explained the dangers of riding motorcycles during the war in Europe, and cautioned me to ride as safely as possible. He had an incredible way of teaching from experience, without lecturing. He had the courage to comfort people during times of deepest despair, and need. Our thoughts are with his loving family, and all those that have been touched by his kind generosity, and marvellous humour. - Posted by: Dwight, Gloria, and Shannon Pearson (Nephew / God Son) on: Jul 11, 2016

  • I have had the privilege as a seasonal contractor to work for Paul for the past 18 years. He is a man that I have held in the highest regard. Transcona has lost a great leader and motivator of many. We all give thanks. Take care, Gail - Posted by: jeff arychuk () on: Jul 11, 2016

  • I met Paul when I was a teenager through being a friend of Peter, He always had time to talk with me and had a great sense of humour and sincerity. As the years passed when ever we met it seemed he never changed and we both talked as time never passed. He always asked about my family and what was happening. It is with great sadness of his passing and our sincere condolences to all the Martin Family Dave and Goni - Posted by: David and Goni barrett (Friend) on: Jul 10, 2016
