I just remembered Mr Slipchenko today and thinking of the tragedy in Ukraine today in 2022, I googled his name and found the obituary. I will never forget his Russian Geography course at the institute of Soviet and East European studies at Carleton U in the 1980s. He motivated me to study the Russian arctic for a masters degree. Thank you Sir. - Posted by: George Harris (Student ) on: Mar 24, 2022
