ROBERT JOSEPH PARK
Date of Passing: Jul 11, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT JOSEPH PARK With sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our father Robert (Bob) Park. He was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie Park of 62 years on March 22, 2016. He is reunited fittingly with Marge on their 63rd wedding anniversary. He will be greatly missed by his children, Wendy (Joe) Templeman, Cathy (Kirk) Williams, Gary Park (Shannon), Sandy (Gary) Derksen; six grandchildren and three great- grandchildren - Brett (Zoé), Courtney (Justin), Lauren (Sheldon), Logan, Connor, Ryan, Anabel, Claire, Kate; brother-in-law, Charlie Riess; nephews, Rick, Rob and families. Bob was born and raised in the St. James area of Winnipeg. Bob and Marge were married July 11, 1953 and settled on Turner Avenue in Silver Heights where they resided for over 60 years. Dad dedicated his life to raising and providing for his family. He was employed with TCA (Air Canada) where he met Marge, Jackson Fabrics and finished off his career at GH Young and Co. He was an avid sports enthusiast and loved being a Winnipeg Blue Bomber fan, having season tickets for over 50 years. Bob was a member at Bel Acres Golf Course and the Deer Lodge Curling Club. As Marge took ill and had to move into personal care, he stood strong and dedicated himself visiting daily at Golden West Centennial Lodge. Four days after her passing, things caught up with Dad and he ended up in the Seven Oaks Hospital. There was just too much to overcome. As difficult as it was, he handled his fate with grace and dignity. A special thanks to the staff at Seven Oaks General Hospital (3rd Floor Unit 3) for the care and compassion for our father over the last three and a half months. Missed but never forgotten and as our Dad said a week ago "Remember the good times" We will celebrate our parent's life at a joint private family burial on July 30, 2016 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to the Canadian Cancer Society. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.ca 885-9715

I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Bob for several years in the 80s-90s while employed at George H. Young. He was a great man and friend and will be missed. My sympathies to the family. - Posted by: David Thompson (Co-Worker) on: Aug 02, 2016
