HAZEL McNULTY (BLAQUIERE) (nee CHADWICK) It is with deep sadness the family announces the passing of Hazel McNulty on Friday, July 8, 2016. Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away at age 99 (five months shy of her 100th birthday). Left to mourn Mom are her sons, Lawrence (Dolores) Blaquiere and Roland (Janice) Blaquiere, daughter Beatrice Blaquiere, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as the McNulty families. Mom was the sole surviving member of the Chadwick family. She was predeceased by her two husbands, Jim McNulty and John Blaquiere, sons, Gilbert and Darold Blaquiere, as well as two grandchildren. Mom was born in Transcona on December 6, 1916 and lived there most of her life. She will be remembered as a great hostess and superb cook, always generously welcoming friends and family into her home. She retired from Woolworth's and enjoyed her retirement years spending time with family, gardening, doing needlepoint, puzzles, reading, cooking and summers at Malachi and Rice Lakes. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. In accordance to Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be held. The family would like to express sincere appreciation to all who helped care for and support Hazel during her time at Park Manor Care. If so desired, donations may be made to the Park Manor Care Expansion Fund, 301 Redonda St., Winnipeg, MB R2C 1L7, or to a charity of your choice.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • My sincere condolences to the Blaquiere family. I have been a long time friend of the family since my high school days. I worked with Hazel at Woolworths and she was my boss. She taught me many things and was a very kind person. I recently saw her at Park Manor and she looked a beautiful as she always did. She was remarkable in her life at all the attributes she had and was not afraid to share them with others. Beatrice her Daughter has remained one of my best friends to this day.. May you rest in peace Dear Hazel. My thoughts go out to the lovely family she has created. Sincerely, Bev Hansell - Posted by: Beverley Hansell (Family Friend) on: Jul 16, 2016
