GLENN THOMAS ADLARD
Born: Oct 18, 1917
Date of Passing: Jul 08, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGLENN THOMAS ADLARD Glenn was born to Alfred and Jean Adlard in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on October 18, 1917 and left us on July 8, 2016. Predeceasing him were his loving wife Hilda in 2007 and his son Robert and brothers William and Jack. He passed away peacefully with his son Neal by his side at Deer Lodge Center. He will be deeply missed by his sons Tom (Leslie) and Neal (Cheryl); grandchildren Karen (Chris), Jeff, Hailey (Mike), Caitlin, Jaladriel (Bryce), Daegan (Amanda) and Brodin (Dolores); great-grandchildren Sarah, Abby, Evan, Meado, Violet, Lacey, Brio and Henley, his brother Jim and many nieces and nephews. Glenn was educated in Winnipeg. He served overseas during the Second World War in the RCAF in England and Europe as an aircraft mechanic. He spent his working career in the Insurance Industry in Winnipeg. Glenn retired as a Vice President at Reed, Shaw Stenhouse and was a Past President of the Insurance Institute of Manitoba. He played hockey for various teams, was an avid golfer, hunter and bowler, holding title to a perfect "450" game. Glenn was well known as a master fix-it at almost anything. In retirement, Glen and Hilda spent many winters "down south" and in Victoria, B.C. where they were able to spend time with his brother Jack and sister-in-law Betty. During the summer, it was all about spending time at the lake, enjoying the kids and grandkids at the cottage he helped build. Our sincere thanks to Tower 7 and Tower 6 staff at Deer Lodge Center. The man with the cowboy hat was well looked after because of their care. A private family internment and celebration of his life will take place. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to The Muscular Dystrophy Association of Manitoba or to charity of your choice.

We are deeply saddened to hear the passing of Glenn. Glenn and Hilda were our first neighbours on Elm Street. They treated us like family from day one. Both of them always spoke so highly of their children and grandchildren. Glenn was a kind and gentle man that loved to chat with our children as little ones. He always greeted them with an affectionate hug. We remember Glenn as always trying to fix something around the house or in the garage. We often thought and spoke of Glenn to the kids and so wish that we had visited him before he passed. Our deepest condolences to the family. We are certain that he is in Heaven embracing the love of his life, Hilda and son Robert. - Posted by: Tonia DeRose Foderaro (Friend and former neighbours ) on: Jul 21, 2016

I haven't seen your father in years but I have very lovely childhood memories of him as a sweet, kind man always very happy and interested in what a little kid had to say. Fond memories of his big red setter Brandy too! He's passing will be felt by many .... Please except our deepest condolences for your loss from my entire family - Posted by: Stacy McLoughlin -Pendree (Daughter of old family friends Rosilea and Bill McLoughlin) on: Jul 16, 2016
