Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOLIVE DORA ANDREWSHENKO (nee LUPRYPA ) December 24, 1926 - June 25, 2016 Peacefully on June 25, 2016 Olga Andrewshenko passed away at Gimli Betel, at the age of 89 years. Olga was predeceased by her husband Joseph, brother John, and her parents Harry and Dora Luprypa. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Linda, Kenny, and Cathy (Fred), grandchildren Joseph, Caralynn, Gillian, Jonathan, and Cadence, great-grandchildren Paige, Jade, Ella, Ryland, and numerous nieces and nephews. Olga was born on December 24, 1926 to Harry and Dora Luprypa and raised on the family farm in Shorncliffe. After attending school she met and married Joseph and eventually moved to Gimli where they raised their family. Olga pursued many careers throughout her life. Permit school teacher for two years in the Progress area, hairdressing in Winnipeg and then in Gimli where she established her own hair salon, Gimli Credit Union and Dietary aide at the Gimli Hospital. During this time Joseph and Olga also started up their business Gimli Plumbing & Heating. Olga was very artistic and pursued her dreams in painting and ceramics at the Gimli Art Club where she was Secretary Treasurer for many years. Olga was also the Treasurer for the Shorncliffe Cemetery which was very close to her heart. Her love for gardening made her home a showplace and always had her door open to show her hospitality. Olga's most important love was her family, especially her grand and great-grandchildren. "We will see you soon Baba somewhere over the rainbow. You are my sunshine". The family would like to thank Dr. R.C. Patel, staff at the Gimli Community Health Centre and Gimli Betel for the loving care given. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Shorncliffe Cemetery, P.O. Box 1009, Gimli, MB R0C 1B0. A celebration of Olive's life will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Linda's (Siatecki) residence (Vidines), 107013 P.T.H. No. 9 on Willow Creek, 5 km south of Gimli, MB.
