MATTHEW DOUGLAS COOPER It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved son and brother on Monday, July 18, 2016 at the age of 19 years. Left to treasure Matthew's memory forever are his mother Keri; sister Haley; father Doug; grandparents, John and Sandra Wheatcroft and Doug and Janet Cooper; as well as his other family and many friends. Matt was smart, creative, and funny. His laugh and his smile lit up every room he entered. He loved his family and friends and if you were someone who mattered to him, he would do anything and everything for you. Throughout his life Matt enjoyed many sports but it wasn't until he discovered lacrosse that he found his true passion. It was there that he blossomed from a shy, quiet child into the fun-loving, outgoing young man that he was, and there that he met some of the best friends of his life. Matt excelled at everything he put his mind to. He had many special talents. A favourite was carpentry and "The Stanley Coop" was one of his proudest achievements. A Celebration of Life will be held for Matt on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Canad Inns Polo Park, 1405 St. Matthews Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba. The family would like to thank everyone for the overwhelming love and support they have shown during this difficult time. You can't possibly know how much we appreciate you all. The family has been through a lot in the past few months and I pray that God's Light would shine down to let you and the family know He is with you. • So very sorry to hear about your loss of Matthew. I remember going to pick up Turk at Karen's house and seeing him as a young baby and watched him as he grew into a toddler till Turk had to leave to start school. He was so adorable and Turk loved playing with him. Losing a son is so very devastating and my prayers go out to you Kerri, Haley and Doug. I am glad you have so many wonderful memories of him and do hope that these memories help in the very tough and emotional times ahead. Take care... - Posted by: Shawnee, Mike and Turk Scatliff (friends) on: Jul 26, 2016
