MAVIS HIGGINS It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mavis Joy Higgins (nee Rawluk) (Segodnia) on Friday, July 15, 2016. Mavis is lovingly remembered by her mother Elsie Rawluk, her son Justin Segodnia (Alexander and Zachary), her husband Ken Higgins, her son Brent Higgins (Lynn, Ashley, and Michael), her daughter Robyn Erickson (Chad, Parker, and Grayson), her sisters, Carolyn Muenchow (Hans, Angela, Cherie and Robert), Kelly Walld (John, Lyle and Kristin), and her brothers, Ken Rawluk (Eva, Kenneth and Laura), Jerry Rawluk (Jill, Fergus and Evan) and Curt Rawluk (Carson and Cody) as well as their extended families. Mavis was predeceased by her father Dan in 2000. Mavis was born in Eriksdale, Manitoba to Elsie and Dan Rawluk on September 20, 1956. She grew up on the family farm learning how to combine a hard work ethic with her easygoing ways. Not one for farm work, she was left in charge of the household. While performing her chores, she always had music playing and would be dancing and singing her way around the house. Ironically, Mavis grew into an incredible gardener, always having a beautiful garden and a yard filled with flowers. Mavis' yard grew more than flowers. It also bloomed with family and friends. The bonds that she created blossomed just like the buds in her flower beds. Anyone who knew her loved her and she will be missed by all. I love you Mom, I miss you.
