Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMES BRUCE BURGESS February 12, 1949 - July 8, 2016 Peacefully, after a brief illness, it is with deep regret that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle on Friday, July 8, 2016 at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Left to cherish his memory are Bruce's wife Linda; sons Brian, and David (Bonnie); grandchildren Ethan and Ruby; brother Glen; sister Kristin Ann (Trevors): and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Alex and Kris Burgess. Bruce was born and grew up in West Kildonan in Winnipeg. He was a teacher at Thomas Greenway Collegiate in Crystal City, MB for 21 years until his kidney transplant. His passion was golf as well as mentoring his children in their numerous sports. Bruce's love of education extended beyond his school career. He was an avid collector and reader and spent many hours in his upstairs library. A Celebration of Life was held at the Rock Lake Pastoral Charge Church on Tuesday, July 12, 2016. A special thanks to the staff of Rock Lake Hospital, St. Boniface Hospital, as well as the Health Sciences Centre.
