Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryAUDREY FAY KAAKE (nee NELMS) It is with great sadness and deep sorrow I announce the passing of my beloved mother on Monday, July 11, 2016 at the St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 84 years. Remaining to forever cherish Audrey's memory are her loving daughter, Cathy; brother-in-law, Herbert (Gertrude) Kaake; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Gordon; her parents, Ernest and Eliza Nelms; brothers Jim and Bill; as well as sisters Gwendolyn, Lillian, Doris and Louise. Audrey was born in Kipling, Saskatchewan on July 28, 1931, and grew up in Vandura, Saskatchewan where she received her education. She moved to Kenora, Ontario where she worked in the Royal Bank, and then moved to Winnipeg where she took her nurse's training. She married Gordon Kaake in 1963 and worked for many years at Heritage Lodge Personal Care Home. Audrey and Gordon retired to Kelowna, British Columbia in 1992 but returned to Winnipeg in 1997. She was a devoted wife and mother who loved horses and flowers. She had a warm smile and a heart of gold. Audrey had a great love for her family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them. In compliance with Audrey's wishes, no formal Funeral Service will be held. Special thanks to Dr. Shaw at the Victoria Hospital, as well as the doctors and nurses in ICU at the St. Boniface Hospital. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200-6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6. Psalm 23 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters, He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
