JULIA ANDRUSIAK (nee SEMENIUK) It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Julia Andrusiak, aged 77, on Thursday, July 21, 2016. Julia passed away with her family by her side at Concordia Hospital. Left to cherish many fond memories are her loving husband John of 57 years; daughter Susan (Dale Allen); grandchildren, Samantha, Benjamin and Matthew; sisters, Bernice (Norm Prefontaine) and Elizabeth (Lloyd Moldwon); also numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Katie; brother David; and sister-in-law Joan. On April 4, 1939 Julia was born in St. Laurent, Manitoba. She met and married John in 1958, moving to Winnipeg and raising their daughter Susan. Julia started out working as a seamstress for 14 years in a clothing factory. Later she drove a school bus for River East School Division, retiring after 23 years in 1994. In early retirement she enjoyed looking after her grandchildren. She was very proud of them, they meant the world to her. Julia enjoyed many vacations out west visiting family and enjoying various hot springs. Many weekends were spent with family and friends camping, fishing and playing cards. She took great pride in her flower gardens at home and enjoyed spending time in her backyard. Julia loved her dogs and considered them family. In later years, Julia and John spent many hours challenging each other in competitions that included marbles, card games and puzzles. Julia loved spending time with her family. Special thanks to the staff at Concordia Hospital ICU for their care. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a charity of your choice. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Highway #1 East at Navin Road, Winnipeg, MB, with Rev. Fr. Bill Wasyliw officiating.
