Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPAULINE HERCHAK July 15, 1922 - July 26, 2016 With heavy hearts and great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Mother and Baba, Pauline Herchak. Pauline passed away at her home at the age of 94. She was predeceased by her loving husband Michael Herchak; her parents Mary and John Bonkowski; stepfather Pete Kulbaba; and siblings Walter Bonkowski (Adeleen), Michael Bonkowski (Nellie), Wanda Payette (Eugene); Katie Sydorko (Walter) and Joyce Kiziak (Walter). Pauline is survived by her daughter Patricia Leschyshyn; son Ken Herchak (Jane); grandson Glen Leschyshyn (Brenda), granddaughter Dielle Busscher (Mark) and great-granddaughter Avery; as well as her brothers Joe Kulbaba (Velma) and Frank Kulbaba (Wolodymyra); and sister Bernice Champagne (Raymond). Pauline was born on July 15, 1922, in Landerville, MB. She began working in Winnipeg as a young woman where she met the love of her life, Michael. Pauline and Michael later married and eventually settled on Stella Avenue where she lived for more than 70 years. She always had the nicest house on the block, surrounded by purple petunias and was very proud of it. Pauline cherished the time she could spend with her family and was loved and adored by her many nieces, nephews and extended family who could always count on her quick wit, sense of humour and story telling to put a smile on their face. Pauline loved her garden which she diligently checked on for any unwelcomed weed needing to be pulled, or any new bloom which needed her TLC. Pauline also enjoyed cooking her favourite Ukrainian dishes such as borscht, perogies and holupchi, which were a staple at every holiday meal. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known her. A celebration of Pauline's life will be held on August 2, 2016, at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service. In lieu of flowers, a donation in her memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
