JESSIE J. BLAIN 1925 - 2016 Jessie J. Blain passed away in the city of Cambridge, Ontario on June 27, 2016. She is survived by her son David; daughter-in-law Anne; grandchildren, Tara and Brandon, and their partners; and Alexis Blain, her great granddaughter. Jessie was born in 1925 in Springfield, Manitoba to Peter and Anna Ambrose. During the Second World War she was a warplane riveter in Ft. William, ON. She met her husband, Harold Blain, while working at the Bay in Winnipeg, and they were married in Toronto. Jessie worked for Bell Canada in Toronto from 1954 until she retired in 1984. She was a life member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Harold passed away in 2003 in his 93rd year. In the spring of 2009 Jessie moved to Cambridge, ON, with retired architect Vincent Furno of Mississauga. Vincent died in 2015 at the age of 105. Jessie passed away quietly in her sleep in the early morning hours of June 27th. She will be remembered by family and friends as a kind, caring and generous woman.
