CHRIS COURT May 9, 1965 - July 30, 2016 With shattered hearts and minds numb with shock and disbelief the family of Chris Court announce his accidental death on July 30, 2016. Chris was predeceased by his brother, Gordie; father, Gordon; sister-in-law, Terry; Mom, Pat and recently his mother-in-law, Joan. Left to mourn his passing are his soulmate and life partner of 28 years, Laurie. His cherished daughter, Stevie Dawn (Al) and his "little man" his grandson Dorian. His dogs: Kaos and Mutzie and the cat, Pepper. Also his brothers and sisters: Judy (Keith), Tom, Colin, Eileen (Gary) and Cathy (Rocky). His nieces and nephews: Dean (Tracey), Tammy (Stewart), Dennis (Joan), Naren (David), Sherri-Lynn (Judd) and TJ. As well as many great-nephews and nieces and even great great-nieces. Chris was a much loved nephew, cousin and friend to many more. Chris has always been passionate about cars, racing, music, reading, his family, his friends, animals and his property "Poplar Ridge". He eagerly awaited Spring each year just to get back to the property. He and Laurie had just about finished the garage and would have been starting on "The Shabin" next year. Those 80 acres were where he was going to accomplish his dream of living in the bush, getting back to nature and one day retiring with Laurie to live out their years. It was at this place, doing what he enjoyed, quadding, that his life ended. Laurie and Stevie wish to thank the RCMP, The Gimli Volunteer Search and Rescue Fire Dept. And Most of all their friends, Bob and Sharon for the quick response in organizing the search and recovery operation needed to find Chris. Chris will be greeted at The Rainbow Bridge by all of the farm animals from his boyhood on the farm in Eriksdale as well as the special dogs and cats of his later life: Peppy, Sam, Tiger, Miss Kitty and bounding out the fastest will be Sadyr. Chris you will always be loved and in our hearts forever. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Winnipeg Humane Society in Chris' s name would be most appreciated. The Memorial Service will be on Thursday, August 4 at 11:00 a.m. at The Canad Inns, 1824 Pembina Hwy. Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue in charge of arrangements.

I met Chris one day in Eriksdale coming out of the Co-op, arms laden with groceries and he offered to help me to car. Such a friendly man and awesome smile! We would run into each other occasionally and he always had a friendly smile for me. I was shocked to hear of his passing. RIP Chris and deepest sympathies to Laurie, Stevie-Dawn and friends and family. - Posted by: Virginia Hill Redmond (Aqaintance) on: Aug 04, 2016
