Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPAMELA JOSEPHINE LELONDE (nee BUSBY) 1926 - 2016 Peacefully, with family at her side, Pamela passed away August 1, 2016, at 90 years of age. Mom was predeceased by her husband Avion and son Rick. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Jackie Drever (Jim), Brian (Danielle), Dale (Leslie), Barry (Debbie) and daughter-in-law Mary, along with 14 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. Mom was born January 12, 1926 in Epsom, England. She married Dad in 1944 coming to Canada as an English war bride. She bravely crossed the Atlantic at the young age of 18, arriving in Halifax, continuing her journey across Canada by train. She arrived in Winnipeg, meeting her in-laws for the first time, and went on to live with them in Minnedosa until Dad joined her in 1945. Mom and Dad raised their family first in Brandon, a couple years in the USA, and in 1970 settled in Winnipeg for the latter years. Mom was truly a homemaker and found great pride and joy in her family. She loved to knit and was an amazing seamstress. She was extremely creative and skillful making costumes for school operettas, ballet, ice skating performances and Halloween. She spent many hours with Dad at the hockey rinks with Dale and Barry and she loved the occasional trips to their tournaments. She also loved to travel, especially to visit the boys in Calgary and Victoria and occasionally back home to England and Europe. Mom's greatest joy was spending time with her family, and looking forward to the next visit or celebration. We are grateful to the staff at Tuxedo Villa who took care of Mom these past four years, and a special thanks to the staff at the Grace Hospital in easing her final moments. Please join us for a celebration of her life at 1:00 p.m. August 24 at Charleswood United Church, 4820 Roblin Blvd., Winnipeg, MB. Interment will be in Brandon on August 25 at 2:00 p.m. at Rosewood Memorial Gardens, and Arrow River Cemetery, August 26, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
