LORI JUIN DUSESSOY (COATES) It is with great sadness that we announce Mom's passing at the HSC on August 5, 2016, at the age of 59. She was surrounded and comforted by her loving family. She is survived by her two children, Dustin (Jess) and Danielle (Kyle); her sister Karen (Craig); and all her loving cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Jim and Valdena in 2002. Mom grew up in Charleswood beside the beautiful Harte trail and continued to live in the same area while raising her kids, with the exception of our short move to Quebec in '94 - '96 where she eagerly spread her cheer making new friends. She had a great sense of humour and loved to laugh. She enjoyed nature, flowers, and gardening and could be seen in the kitchen window cooking a delicious meal while looking out into her beautiful yard filled with deer, rabbits, birds and butterflies. She was her happiest at home, loved having her kids over for a home cooked meal and made a great apple pie. Besides dedicating her life to raising her children, she made lifelong friends while working at City of Winnipeg Libraries, Transit, Bevro Sales and 311. Mom was the most selfless, kind and generous soul, but also wise and keen and able to teach us many life lessons along the way which we will carry with us forever. She was always looking to help others be it her best friend or a complete stranger. Mom could be seen volunteering at all our sporting events, Brownies, Beavers, field trips and school activities. She never missed and did it with such love and enthusiasm. A truly special lady. A celebration of life will be held at Charleswood United Church, 4820 Roblin Blvd. at Dieppe Rd. on Wednesday, August 17 at 1:00 p.m. Thank you to Family and Friends for all your love and support. Also, to the wonderful staff at HSC SICU for their care and compassion. Rest in Peace Mom, you will be missed so very much. We love you.

  • Danielle and Dusty and family, Through my many tears there are no words to describe the pain I feel at losing my dear friend and client for over 30 years. Lori's love for her family was so deep and devoted. We shared each and every achievement in each child's life and she would be bursting in happiness to tell me all. She was also a good listener as we would lean on each other through various times. Lori was a best friend and like a sister to me. Losing her takes out a piece of my heart. Thinking of you all in this very sad time. Rest peacefully my sweet friend. - Posted by: Gail Millar (Friend) on: Aug 14, 2016

  • Dear Dustin and Danielle; You likely don't remember me - the last time I saw you was at your Auntie Karen and Uncle Craig's wedding, which was also the last time I saw your Mom. She was full of joy and having an awesome time, so I am so grateful that this is the lasting memory I will have of her. I was born and raised in Charleswood, and grew up two doors down from your Mom. Your Auntie Karen and I were more like sisters than friends, and your Mom, being a few years older, was always someone I looked up to her ~ such a cool and beautiful lady! I am so sorry for you in your sad loss, and I want you to know that I am praying for you both. That the Lord will bless you with strength and peace and comfort at this difficult time, and give you hope for the future. Karen and Craig - My heart breaks for you and your family ~ such an unexpected and devastating loss of one so dear. I have so many fond memories of our childhood together, many of which include your Sister. My prayer for you is that the Lord bless you with comfort and strength to endure what lies ahead, as well as give you clarity of thought and wisdom as you adapt to life without your beloved Sister. In deepest sympathy and love, Heather & Bob Logan - Posted by: Heather Logan (Former neighbour and friend) on: Aug 13, 2016

  • I lived across the street from Lori on Harstone. I always remembered Lori with great fondness, as moving to BC when I was 10 separated us.
