DR. JAMES E. JANS It saddens us to announce, Jim passed away July 24, 2016 in Ottawa after a battle with cancer. Leaving to mourn him are his loving wife Barbara; daughter Jennifer (Jeremy); son Christopher (Jeneane); and grandchildren, Jamie, Jordan and Jemma. Also left to mourn are his mother Lilian; brother Joe; sisters, Laurie and Mary (Gil) along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father Joe. Jim obtained his BA at the University of Manitoba, his MA at the University of Maryland-Baltimore County and his PhD at McMaster University. Jim and Barb settled in Pointe Claire, PQ where he was Assoc. Professor in the Dept. of Psychology and Assoc. Dean of Graduate Studies at Concordia University. After retirement in 2012, Jim and Barb moved to Ottawa. Jim was an excellent family man, always putting his family first. They travelled extensively and he was passionate about observing nature, music, photography, gardening, cooking and sports. Say not in grief he is no more, but give thankfulness that he was. We miss you Jim!
