Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTANNER DAVID WILLIAM LAVERDURE April 22, 1992 - August 5, 2016 Resting where no shadows fall In peaceful sleep he awaits us all God will link the broken chain When one by one we meet again. It is with heavy hearts that the loved ones of Tanner announce his sudden passing from our lives but not our hearts. From the moment he entered this world he brought love, laughter, energy and a sense of playfulness that never diminished. From an early age his energy would fill a room and a smile that engulfed his whole face. Quick witted and full of humor he loved to tease and make others laugh - the twinkle in his eye sure to let you know that something was coming your way. A graduate of MMCI he played football for both MMCI and the Transcona Nationals earning a championship with his team mates. Most recently he was content to support the Winnipeg Blue Bombers attending many games with his brother or his son or play dodgeball. He loved his truck and his work with Marinelli Construction and Renovation finding true friendship with his crew. Family was always very important to Tanner and he enjoyed family dinners (Mom's cooking) and barbecues especially his own. There could never be enough ice cream and as he said Life is bologna'. His sons were the center of his life and he was a devoted and loving father - proud to be called daddy. His brother, niece and nephew were always delighted when he stopped by and took every opportunity to wrestle and play with him - an activity he never turned down. His hugs were full of life and conviction of his love for you. He valued his friends many of which have been part of his life from the time he was very young. Survived by sons, Theodore and Benjamin; the woman he loved Tamara Smith; his parents, David and Sherry; sister Brady (Justin); brother Drake; nephews Seth and Xhavier; niece Cherish; step-grandparents, Eloi Turbide and Cheryle Laverdure, Peggy and James Smith, Darrell Smith; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Predeceased by maternal grandparents, Sonja and Lorenz Rudolph, paternal grandparents, Florence Laverdure and William Laverdure, and sister Jordan. The family asks that all who attend the celebration of Tanner's life wear pink - the colour of his favourite shirt - because real men wear pink'. In lieu of flowers, a Trust Fund has been established for Theo by his paternal grandparents. Celebration of Life will be held August 18 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Wheeler Funeral Home, 1800 Day Street, Winnipeg.
