DIANA RUTH WISHART
Born: May 20, 1920
Date of Passing: Aug 11, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDIANA RUTH WISHART May 20, 1920 - August 11, 2016 Peacefully, at the Grace Hospital, Ruth passed away. She was predeceased by her husband, Cecil, in 2003, and her brother, Al, in 2014. In 1973, Ruth and Cece retired to Victoria where they became avid lawn bowlers, kept fit by walking daily, and played bridge. Following their return to Winnipeg to be closer to family, they lived in St. James. After Cece's passing, Ruth became the very first resident at Sturgeon Creek II, spending many happy years there. Although she endured a lot of pain in her latter years, until quite recently, Ruth was able to enjoy going out for lunch or a visit, and her sense of humour never flagged. She is survived by her loving children, Linda Dooley and Ross Wishart (Elaine); grandchildren Christopher Dooley (Trish Sale), Laura Granberg (Brad) and Lori Wilson (Vern); and great-grandchildren, Alex Dooley, Marek and Mikael Granberg, and Jake and Shayla Wilson. Ruth's family would like to thank everyone at Sturgeon Creek who helped look after her so well, especially during the past year, particularly friend and table mate Vi McKenzie, Isabel, Kathy, and Cesne, all of whom were very kind and caring. Cremation has taken place, and in accordance with Ruth's wishes, there will be no service. She will be laid to rest with Cece in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. If you wish, in lieu of flowers, please consider a gift in her memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division.
