CATHERINE MAY WINTERS (nee ZAZULAK) It is with great sadness we announce that Catherine May Winters (nee Zazulak), our proud Mother, Baba, Great Baba, and sister passed away peacefully on August 16, 2016 at Deer Lodge Centre. Catherine was the widow of Levi Winters; they had shared 32 lovely years together. She has had a long battle with health issues and is now at peace. Catherine, or Mickey as many people knew her, was born in Elkhorn Manitoba on June 2nd, 1936 to Peter and Mary Zazulak. She lived there until she met her husband Levi Winters. After they got married in 1952, they traveled while he was in the military. A few of the places she had lived were Gage Town, NB, Germany and Shilo, MB. After Levi retired from the military they moved to Winnipeg and ran a bowling alley on Henderson Hwy. and then one in Stonewall. They enjoyed camping and their seasonal spot at the Oasis. The family spent many, many summers in Halifax, NS visiting family. After Levi passed away, she wintered in Texas for a few years and loved her warm winters. She was an active volunteer with the Pan Am games and several Grey Cups. Catherine was a season ticket holder with the Bombers for over 25 years and loved all things sports. Catherine was predeceased by her mother, father and her husband Levi. She is survived and greatly missed by her children David (Debbie), Allen, Bryan (Tammy), and Tammy (Noel) and daughter-in-law Sharron. Her grandchildren: Robyn (Tom), Greg, Nick, Curtis, Dylan, Aimee, Bonnie, Robert and Mercedes. Along with great-grandchildren: Bostyn, Ryleigh, Jack and Theodore. Her sister Carol, and many nieces, nephews and friends. There will be an interment at Elmwood Cemetery at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 25 with a celebration to follow.
