Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEARLE JAMES (JIM) FINES April 7, 1935 - July 26, 2016 With family by his side, Jim passed away in the early hours of July 26, 2016 at the age of 81 in the Lake of the Woods General Hospital. Jim leaves behind his sister Joan (Ted); brother George (Ruth); son Rick (Dawn); daughter Cynthia (Lyne); nieces, Patricia (Ian), Jennifer (Tres), Jacqui (Dan), Donna, Jacquie (Ryan) and Bonnie; nephew Geoff (Liz); grandchildren, Ben (Brittney), Jamie (Will) and Robyn (Kyle); great-grandchildren, Ben, Lilly and Ivy; as well as his cherished Aunt Bea and special friends Rodger and Denise, the Moores and the Wybers. Jim was predeceased by his beloved wife Barbara of 60 years; his parents, Earle and Connie; and sister Patricia. Jim served in the RCAF until 1962 when he joined H.C. Paul Limited. After 14 years of travels and escapades, he retired as Director of Technical Services. He then bought and ran Clearwater Bay Marina, plus taught marine courses at Brandon College during some winters. In 1984, Jim retired from both the marina and the college, but taught marine courses at Kenora's Confederation College until his full retirement in 1987. Jim's absolute love of his life was his Barbara. She was his wingman; her humour, gentle spirit and unwavering support of his adventurous spirit was his joy and strength. Jim was a man of his times. He believed in doing the right thing, not the easy thing. He loved fiercely, laughed often and will be deeply missed. Cremation has occurred. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
