HOLLY JAYNE WALKER (nee YOUNG) June 9, 1969 - August 30, 2016 It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce Holly's sudden and tragic death at age 47 in a car accident this past Tuesday near Stonewall, MB. Holly will be fondly remembered for her generosity, heart of gold, free spirit, and wonderful sense of silly fun. Holly was born on June 9, 1969 at 4:30 p.m. at Grace Hospital in Winnipeg. She was the third daughter of Norman and Aurlie Young, and sister to Donna and Jackie. Growing up with her two older sisters, Holly enjoyed many wonderful summers at the family cottage, many family trips to the Rockies to go skiing, as well as swimming, diving, gymnastics, horseback riding, and her beloved pet dogs. She loved, and was deeply loved by her sisters, her mother, and her father. As a young mother, Holly showed singular devotion to her children Boston, Lucas, and MacGyver, and wasted no opportunity for a fun activity with them. Her favourite outing with her sons was taking them to the beach to play, and she also loved watching them having hours of great fun swimming, playing with their toys, jumping on the trampoline, and riding dirt bikes. Holly's instinct for caring extended not just to friends and family but to strangers as well, and she pursued a career in nursing where she enjoyed helping and comforting the elderly and the infirm as a nurses aide. Holly is survived by her sons Boston and Lucas Walker, her former husband Les Walker, her youngest son MacGyver Wallace, her sister Donna Young, her sister Jackie Coupland and her husband Bruce, her nephew Cole and niece Siri, her mother Aurlie Young and stepfather Paul Gagnon, and her devoted friend Larry Friesen, who is recovering from the accident in hospital at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg. Holly was preceded in death by her father Norman Young. A service and reception will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 7 at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home in Winnipeg. In memory of Holly, donations may be sent to Kay Friesen, P.O. Box 4499, Stonewall, Manitoba, R0C 2Z0, to assist with the costs of Larry's recovery from the accident. A special thank you to the following people for all their wonderful support and encouragement over the years: Larry's mother Kay Friesen, Holly's uncles Ralph and Terry Young, Les's parents Wayne and Astrid Walker, Aurlie's dear friend Margaret Benjaminson and her mother Dorothy, and all of the other friends and family that were there for our dearest loved Holly. Holly, you will be missed.
