GAGNE September 22, 1932 - August 31, 2016 Much loved mother of Mike (Stacey) and Drew (Sofia) and grandmother to Stephanie and Emily, Joan passed away on August 31 at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She enjoyed a rich and fulsome life for the better part of 84 years in the UK and in Canada and has now joined Joe Gagne, her husband and the great love of her life, who passed on August 5, 2006. Their remains will be scattered together in the Strait of Georgia near Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island this fall. Joan will be greatly missed by her family and friends, particularly her sons who are so proud of their Mom for how she lived, for her resilience, feistiness, and independence, and for the manner in which she maintained her dignity to the end.
