Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE OLAF PETTERSON November 17 , 1922 - June 8, 2016 It is with sadness that we say goodbye to our Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather, George Petterson. Dad was born and lived most of his younger years in Starbuck, eventually moving to Red Lake and Dacotah, when he married, finally moving to Winnipeg. Dad was a hard worker and worked at various jobs, settling on farming in Dacotah and later working in and managing a garage in Winnipeg. Dad was predeceased by his parents, Avilda and Wilhelm Petterson, brother Bill and sister-in-law Kathleen Petterson, sister Dorothy Kendall, wife Mary Willetta (Val) Petterson, son-in-law Larry Adams, and great-grandson Michael John. Left missing him greatly are twin daughters Susan Petterson and Cheryl Adelberg (Norman), granddaughters Allison Savoie (Peter), and Jennifer Adams (John), great-grandsons Larry, Owen and Patrick, brother-in-law Ray Kendall, sister-in-law Jean Petterson and sister-in-law Marie Qually, as well as many nieces and nephews. Dad believed that you should fix things, rather than replace them. He had an innate ability to know what was wrong and how to repair it. He believed you should put wheels on everything to make moving easier. He was an avid sports fan, loved the Jets and had tickets to their games for many years. He enjoyed watching curling and was familiar with the players' histories and changes to the game. He loved spending time at the lake, fishing and just enjoying life. He loved his garden and grew champion tomatoes. He was old fashioned, believing women should walk on the inside of the street for protection, opened doors for us and loved socializing and keeping in touch with family. Cremation and burial has taken place.
