Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLORRAINE KOHUT Mrs. Lorraine Kohut (nee Rodie), age 76 years, passed away suddenly at her residence on Wednesday, July 13, 2016. Lorraine was born in East Braintree, MB on June 4, 1940. She met Michael Kohut and they moved to Thunder Bay in 1966, where they raised three children. Lorraine worked for over 25 years as a waitress, first at the Royal Edward Arms and then at the Valhalla Inn, until retirement in 1995. In her spare time she liked to visit friends, play cards and visit the casinos. Lorraine was well traveled including destinations to Texas, Hawaii, Mexico, Las Vegas (50th Anniversary) and visiting her grandchildren. Lorraine will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 57 years, Michael, and family. She leaves to cherish her memory, son Calvin (wife Bonnie) of Revelstoke, BC, daughter Bonnie (husband Tony) of North Bay, ON, son Barry (wife Nicole) of Dryden, ON; ten grandchildren; three sisters, Audrey Holleron, Barbara Toon and Georgette Holberg; and one brother, Craig Medynski, all of Winnipeg. Lorraine was predeceased by her parents Nettie and George Rodie. Funeral services for the late Lorraine Kohut will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016, proceeding at 11:00 a.m. from the Hadashville Recreational Centre to Birch River Cemetery in Medika, Manitoba, for the service. Visitation for family and friends was held in the Westfort Chapel, 420 West Gore Street, in Thunder Bay, ON, on Monday, July 18, 2016. Thank you to all the medical staff and first responders for the care and compassion they gave. "The sympathy and understanding of friends like you has helped so much to lighten the burden of our sorrow. No words can express the full measure of our appreciation".
