He was predeceased in 2007 by his beloved wife of 60 years, Patricia; his memory will be forever cherished by his children: sons, Terry (Melrose) and Robert; daughter Karen (Don Murdock); 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson; sister Marg Bell; brother-in-law Robert (Doreen) Bell; sister-in-law Joyce Little and many nieces and nephews. Gordon was predeceased by his parents, William and Florence McIntosh, and brothers, William, George, Tommy, Jimmy; sisters, Minnie, Ester, Jessie and Mary. Gordon joined the Army in 1944 and proudly served with the Princess Patricia Light Infantry, after leaving the Army he worked for CPR until an accident in 1955 changed the course of his life. He went on to have a 30-year career with the Canadian Post Office. Serving as Postmaster for Headingley, Field Support Postmaster for smaller offices and a Manitoba Director for the Canadian Postmaster Association. We know that Mr. and Mrs. "Mac", as they were known, to the Headingley Baseball Little League players from the 1960s, will be missed by all the "boys" who they coached and cared for over the years. Many great family memories over the years revolve around baseball from little league to the majors. In 1974, after serving as Anavets Unit #283 Secretary for many years, he served as Unit President and headed a committee to bring Dame Vera Lynn to Winnipeg, in honour of Winnipeg's Hundredth Anniversary. He was thrilled when in 1976, Dame Vera Lynn returned to Winnipeg and enjoyed lunch at the family home. A graveside memorial service will be held on Monday, September 19, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gordon's memory to the Anavets Unit #283, 3584 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3K 0Z8.

Dear Terry, Rob, and Karen, I just recently learned of your father's passing. I would like to extend my condolences to your family. Mr. and Mrs. McIntosh were very special people and I have many wonderful memories of growing up next door. I appreciate the time your dad spent working with kids in the neighbourhood, especially the hours coaching Karen and me with baseball. He will be greatly missed by your family. I am very sorry to have missed the memorial service, but send you my deepest sympathy on your loss. Janine Keough Girard - Posted by: Janine Keough Girard (Neighbour) on: Oct 05, 2016
