Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARJORIE RUTH (REDMANN) BALL Marjorie Ruth Ball passed away at the Maples Personal Care Home, in Winnipeg, on Friday, September 9, 2016 at the age of 97. Marjorie was born and raised in the Butterfield District near Pierson, MB. She attended the country school at Butterfield and took her high schooling in Pierson. She had a great memory for facts and numbers and over the years told lots of interesting stories of her brothers, sisters, friends and teachers. After high school she worked in the domestic field in Winnipeg and Kenora. She married Wilfred Ball of Napinka in February 1942. After living in Fort William, ON where Gwen, Lorrie and Richard were born, they relocated to Napinka in 1950. Their family was complete in 1951 with the birth of Eldon. In 1957 they moved to Lyleton. Our family has fond memories of our years in Napinka and Lyleton. Mom and Dad moved to Winnipeg in 1966. Dad was a commissionaire and the two of them managed a large apartment block - it was like their own small community. Dad passed away in 1988 and Mom was able to continue living alone with help from her daughter and son-in-law Gwen and Allan. In 2005 she moved into Maples Personal Care Home. Mom loved country music on radio, CD's or in concerts. She enjoyed all the musical entertainment at Maples. She was always happy to dine out and to attend family celebrations. She looked forward to Gwen's homemade treats. She loved watching sports, especially curling. Marjorie is survived by two daughters, Gwen (Allan) Sharpe and Lorrie (Angus) Sneesby; two sons, Richard (Janet) Ball and Eldon (Bonnie) Ball; 10 grandchildren, Kevin (Jodi) Sharpe; Kris Sneesby, Kyle (Kristen) Sneesby, Tyler (Sarah Michaelson) Sneesby; Ian, Perry and Ryan (Chantell) Ball; Mike (Sandra), Curtis (Ali), and Derek (Christy) Ball; 16 great-grandchildren, Michael (Gio), Matthew and Laura Sharpe; Mackenzie, Brianne and Alex Jamieson; Ewan and Abigale Sneesby; Grayson Ball; Ella and Ethan Ball; Aisley and Emerson Ball; Max, Roman and Summer Ann Ball; and great-great grandson Warren Sharpe; also one cousin, Robert Kielhorn of Langley, BC; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Augusta and Ernest Redmann; husband Wilfred Ball; granddaughter Kerri Jan Sharpe; siblings Richard, Henry, Bertha, Elsie, twin brother Herbert, and Viola; also granddaughter Kris' husband Mark Jamieson. Thank you to the staff at Maples Personal Care Home for the care given to our mother over these many years. There will be a private family graveside service at Pierson Cemetery on Thursday, September 15, 2016. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Arrangements are in care of Redpath Funeral Home of Melita.
