PATRICIA KAREN CHALMERS July 20, 1943 - September 10, 2016 Pat passed away on September 10, 2016 at home and at peace after a long courageous battle with cancer with her husband of 50 years, Gerry, and daughter, Lisa, at her side. This was her wish. She left on her terms and with dignity. Pat was third oldest of 12 children. She was predeceased by her father, Albert DeBruyne; mother, Elsie and sister, Rosanne Tillus. She leaves behind her husband, Gerry; daughter, Lisa (John); sons, Todd (Kristel), Bruce (Anna); and the true joys of her life, her six grandchildren, Tyler, Remy, Hayden, Liam, Abby and Antonio. Also surviving are her brothers and sisters, Annette, Allan, Bob, Dennis, Marla, Betty, Maretta, Nadine, Rick and Cheryl. Pat made a huge positive impact on the lives of the people who knew her with her kind and generous nature. She always put the needs of family and friends ahead of her own. Pat was a hard worker to the extreme and used her many marvelous talents to bring joy and help to her family and friends throughout her life. Her greatest enjoyment was bringing joy and help to other people expecting nothing in return. Respecting Pat's wishes there will be no formal service. A Celebration of this great lady's life will be held Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Everden Rust Funeral Services, 1130 Carmi Ave., Penticton. A special thank-you is extended to Dr. James Robertson and his staff and the Palliative Community Nurses, Lisa and Ashley for the wonderful compassionate care extended to Pat through the final stages of her journey.
