RUTH ROBERTS Peacefully on Friday, September 9, 2016, Ruth Ellen Roberts passed away at Parkview Place Personal Care Home, at the age of 100 years. She was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Sarah Roberts, and her sisters, Sarah and Florence Roberts. Ruth was born and raised in Neepawa, Manitoba. Life on the farm during the Depression was hard but it gave her a work ethic that would stay with her the rest of her life. When she moved to Winnipeg, she worked for the Nutty Club and later for many years, at Revenue Canada. After retirement, she travelled extensively with sister Florence. She was a kind, unassuming and gentle woman. Though soft-spoken, she had a wonderful sense of humour. She lived modestly and with gratitude. She was proud of her Welsh heritage. Both her father and uncle were members of the Welsh Guard. She loved to crochet and her impressive, meticulous handiwork will be treasured always. Ruth was independent and enjoyed excellent health. Having being born at home on the farm, her first hospital stay was at the age of 95. Her longevity could be attributed to the home-cooked meals at Parkview Place. She was often known to enjoy two breakfasts. She passed through this life with a quiet grace and will be missed by those who had the privilege of knowing her. Our deepest thanks to the wonderful nursing staff, on the 7th floor, for taking such good care of our dear Ruth. We are truly grateful for the kindness shown to her at all times. She was a farm girl at heart and longed to return to her beloved Neepawa. She is home now. Returned to her family and at peace. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at the Riverside Cemetery in Neepawa. White's Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. (204) 476-2848
