ELIZABETH ANN CURRY August 27, 1945 - September 26, 2016 Annie passed away peacefully at home in Toronto on September 26, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her devoted husband Mark; sons Zachary (Lynn) and Matthew (Brooke) and older brother Brock. Adored Lulu to grandchildren, Tori and Charlie - her cherubs - she will also be dearly missed by niece Jennifer (Doug); nephew Andrew (Natalie); as well as Sabrina (Jon), Beau, Simon, Xavier, Serena (Tyler), Jade (Mike), Silva Faye, Kya and Noah who affectionately referred to her as Auntie Annie. Ann grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba with parents Stanley Otis and Martha Nan Mason and brother Brock. She graduated from the Winnipeg General Hospital as a Registered Nurse, and shortly after met Gerald Mark Curry, to whom she was married for 43 wonderful, laughter-filled years. Together with sons Zachary and Matthew, they lived in Toronto all these years. An avid reader, Ann could often be found curled up on a chaise lounge engrossed in a novel. Later in life, she caught the crossword bug at which point Sunday's New York Times couldn't arrive fast enough. A keen traveler, Ann had fond memories of Africa, the Baltic States and, her favorite, New York City all with wonderful friends and her Markie. Her two yellow Labradors Emily & Roxy could always be found by her side (or on her chaise) and were fiercely loyal and hilarious companions. Annie was a truly wonderful person who brought joy and laughter to all whose lives she touched. Ann lived life to the fullest and did things her way. She will be dearly missed and thought of often. The family would like to thank all of the staff at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto, especially Dr. Christine Brezden-Masley and Dr. Kieran McIntyre for their compassion. A special thank you to Savoy Ceaiyo, who has been a part of our family for more than 20 years. Her heartfelt generosity and thoughtfulness contributed immensely to Ann's care - and we know she very much appreciated it. In keeping with Ann's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Grace Church on-the-Hill on Tuesday October 11, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. A celebration of Annie's life will follow. If desired, donations may be made to St. Agnes Anglican Church (out on the lonesome prairie), 46 Selkirk Street, Carberry, Manitoba, R0K 0H0.
