ROBERT (BOB) ARNOLD WAKEMAN October 3, 1939 - September 28, 2016 It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Bob. Predeceased by his mother Violet Rose Bauer, father Murray Wakeman, brother Gerald and his first wife Beatrice Ruth. He will be greatly missed by his wife Herta and children, Julia (Rob), Murray (Carol) and Linda (Mark); sister June; brother Dan; stepchildren, Monika and Stephen, along with many nieces and nephews. Bob was born and raised in Winnipeg, but enjoyed many years of work related travel with INCO and Suncor. He was a kind and loving husband and father. In retirement, he enjoyed his volunteer work with E.M.C.A., where he had his first concert date with his wife Herta. He had a great love of animals, especially his dog Brandy and daughter's dog Kylie. The family would like to thank the nurses at St. Boniface Hospital on 6E and 8th Floor. I love you to the moon and back. Funeral service 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street. • Even though I knew the end was near, it was still saddening to learn of Bob's passing. He and I had been friends for close to 50 years and colleagues with three different companies at locations in Canada and the far east. It was very easy to be friends with Bob. He was a very positive person without pretense. He was what he appeared to be; a gentleman in every regard, always seeing the good in people and treating everyone with respect. Even though we were often separated geographically over the years, we always kept in touch. Whenever we got the opportunity to visit or otherwise have a conversation, it was as though we had just picked up from where we had left off the day before. As a colleague, Bob had a major impact on my career. Early on he was instrumental in establishing the career path that I was to follow the rest of my working life. As our career paths came together over the years at various companies, I could always count on Bob to be very supportive of my goals and aspirations as I was of his. As with our friendship, it was very easy to be a colleague of Bob's Goodbye My friend. You have had a major positive influence on many peoples lives. May you rest in peace - Posted by: Floyd Olson (Friend) on: Oct 02, 2016
