Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAKE HUEBERT On September 21, 2016, Jacob Huebert passed into peaceful rest at his home in Punta Gorda, Florida in the presence his loving wife, Gloria and family members. Jake was born in Meadows, Manitoba on February 12, 1927. He was raised in North Kildonan in Winnipeg as the oldest son of a hardworking, industrious family. Jake's parents, Cornelius and Maria, were immigrants from Ukraine, Russia. His siblings included Arthur, Edward, Harry, Betty and Irene. He relocated to Boonville, Missouri to take over the family's fiberboard plant, and became a United States citizen in 1978. Jake went on to run Huebert Fiberboard until his retirement in 1990, at which time two of Jake's children, Gerald and Randy, took over management. Jake married Patricia Eileen Murphy in Winnipeg on January 22, 1949. Jake and Pat were blessed with the births of five sons, Edward and Lawrence (who were both prematurely called home to God), Gerald, Wayne and Randy. All of these children were born in Winnipeg. Gerald, Wayne and Randy made the trip to Boonville as small children and were ultimately raised as true mid-western boys. Pat was a loving wife and wonderful mother who passed away prematurely in February 1975. Jake and Gloria Stanfill were married on April 3, 1976 and commenced their love affair until their final goodbye when she agreed to let him pass on September 21. Gloria brought a son, Kelly, into their union and Jake, being true to his nature, adopted Kelly as his own. Jake and Gloria were also blessed with the birth of Joseph, the final addition to Jake's nuclear family. They have had many travels and adventures together and finally settled in Punta Gorda, Florida. Jacob Huebert was a fair and honest man in everything he did. The world is a lesser place without him. Jake is survived by his wife of 40 years, Gloria; sons: Gerald (Karla), Wayne (Julie), Randy (Lila), Kelly (Kim), and Joseph; and grandchildren: Michelle, Patricia, Deborah, Nicole, Brandon, Madison, Maria, Jacob, Jeffery and Jamison. Jake's great-grandchildren include Kyle, Joshua, Miranda, Peyton and Jackson. Also surviving are brother Arthur (Kay), sister Irene (Ivan), and sister-in-law Sophie. We all love and miss you. A memorial service and celebration of Jake's life will be scheduled in Boonville, Missouri in the near future. Memorials in honour of Jake can be given to the Salvation Army.
