Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT WILLIAM HENRY BAUER March 24, 1950 - September 23, 2016 Bob passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness at Seven Oaks Hospital on September 23 at the age of 66. He is survived by his mother Bernice; brother Doug (Janice); sister Beverly (Jim) and brother Dave. He also leaves to mourn nephews David (Erin) and Andy from Calgary; niece Kaylyn and nephew Mark (Britney) from Winnipeg; uncle Bill and aunt Dorothy from Sault Ste. Marie; and many cousins. Bob was predeceased by his father Harry Bauer. Bob was born in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, lived in Camp Borden in a military home for a few years and then moved to Winnipeg in 1965 where he lived until his passing. He graduated from Tech Voc High School and went to work for Canada Wire & Cable (Superior Cable) until experiencing health issues. His favourite pastime was collecting, painting & displaying war game pieces. He also spent many hours playing war games with many friends including Graham and Nelson. Bob was also an avid reader and collected many books over the years. The family would like to thank the following: Seven Oaks Hospital Unit 5 staff, Home Care and Ambulance services, A special thank you to his brother, Dave, for care of Bob and his mother Bernice. Bob was cremated and will be laid to rest at Brookside Cemetery on Tuesday, October 4, at 2:00 p.m. in a graveside ceremony for friends and family only. If desired, donations may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association.
