GISELE MARIE SKOLNY (nee MAYNARD) June 6, 1944 - September 24, 2016 With profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of our beautiful mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Gisele Skolny. Born in St. Boniface and raised in St. Malo, Manitoba. She leaves to mourn her loving son, Fred Skolny (Christl) and loving daughter, Lynne Onofreychuk (Peter); grandchildren Kalin, Keegan, Declan and Mira; sisters, Pierrette Gosselin and Madeleine Hamonic, and her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. We will miss your laughter, your unconditional love, your everything! You'll remain in our hearts and will be forever missed. A celebration of life to be held at a future time. My sister Gisele loved life. She loved people, not in crowds, but one on one, we had the most laughs, then. She would tell a joke and she was so expressive, that we'd end up laughing more at her expressions than her jokes. She was a sister, a friend, and a buddy. We had good times, difficult times, and special times. When Gisele loved, it was with all of her heart. She loved her job, the people she worked with, and she made great friends. Her life was Fred and Christl, Lynne and Peter. Her grandkids Keegan, Dalin, Declan and little Mira. Every time she talked about them, her face would light up with a huge smile. My heart felt sympathies to you at the loss of your beautiful mother, Gisele. I met Gisele while training her when she started at Concordia Hospital. We quickly formed a friendship and I am grateful for the many memories I will always cherish... Long talks about kids & life over an evening of folk art painting ... many, many giggles during a shared shift and coffee breaks. Her tell-it-like-it-is style was enchanting. Gisele beamed with love and pride when she spoke of her kids, and later the grandchildren. The topic came up in every conversation. Gisele freely shared her 'l'amour de la vie' with anyone who crossed her path. I will always remember how her eyes would light up as she flashed the biggest smile I have ever seen!
