MARIANE LAURITSEN On Saturday, October 1, 2016, Mariane passed away while celebrating in the good company of former coworkers and friends. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Anny and Michael Rollwagen, their children, Suzanne (David), Scott (Andria) and Chris (Sharlene), as well as great-nieces and nephews and relatives in Denmark. She is also survived by her "brother" Brian and wife Jan Stevens, close friends and numerous acquaintances. Mariane was predeceased by her parents, Hagbart and Carla Lauritsen, whom she missed dearly. Mariane grew up on Beliveau Road and Winslow Drive of St. Vital, attending school at Dakota Collegiate. She was extremely proud of her roots. She worked for 20 years at Jostens Canada and held various positions as a Proofreader, Desktop Typist and Group Checker, where she made many lifelong friends and acquaintances along the way. She enjoyed socializing when the opportunity presented itself, in recent years attending social events held at her Adamar Road common room. She was a regular fan at her great-niece's and nephew's school events, hockey games and soccer matches, and above all, a loyal supporter to others who were fighting illness, participating in charity walks, or running a marathon. The loves of her life included her parents, friends, family and her many four-legged "lil buddies", whom she loved more than life itself. She also loved all things Denmark, country music, watching sports, including the Winnipeg Jets and Blue Bombers, curling, motorsports, of course NASCAR! She was an unwavering friend and everybody's #1 cheerleader. She was also known for her beautiful penmanship, often taking the time to scribe a thoughtful poem or note to one she cared about in a birthday card or anniversary wish. A "Come and Go" reception celebrating Mariane's life will take place on Thursday, October 20, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the East End Community Club, 517 Pandora Ave. E. (lower hall) in Transcona. Friends and former coworkers, please drop in for a piece of cake and to share your favourite stories and memories of Mariane. As Mariane's friends were very dear to her, we would love to see you. Rest in peace Mariane, you will be missed. Donations in Mariane's memory may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society.

I was stunned. Shocked at her passing. I didn't know till Yesterday. Very good friend. Good person. She set me up with my wife. I thank her for that. She gave until it hurts. I can see her as clearly as I look at this screen. She will never be forgotten in my mind. The world needs more people like her. She was the best at what she did. - Posted by: greg kalinin (very good friend) on: Oct 08, 2016

Every year since I became friends with Mariane since Grade 8 she has always, no matter where I was, called, emailed or texted me on my birthday, which is tomorrow. Just last week I was wondering if she would remember, because of course she always would, so tomorrow I shall be sad that I won't have a birthday wish from my dear friend who passed last week. Thank you Mariane for all of the "Happy Birthday" wishes my friend, rest in peace, without pain. ...Kim - Posted by: Kim (Friend) on: Oct 07, 2016

Mariane and I have been friends since 1978 when I started working at Josten's. Even though we didn't physically see each other often, we kept in touch on facebook. I will miss her greatly. My condolences to her family and friends. - Posted by: Sharon Jonatanson (Friend) on: Oct 04, 2016
