SCOTT DOUGLAS MCLAREN Husband, Father, Grandfather It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Scott Douglas McLaren, suddenly at home, with his family by his side on the evening of Saturday, October 1, 2016. Left to mourn Scott's passing are his wife Janet; daughter Kaitlin; son-in-law Ryan and granddaughter Emma. Family, Friends and Boating were Scott's greatest pride and joy. He had a strong will, was full of character and had a big heart. He loved his family and friends, and if you were someone who mattered to Scott, he would do anything and everything for you. Throughout Scott's life he enjoyed working with his hands, his time spent at the family cottage on Davidson Lake, and most recently his Summers on the "Whiskey Jack" at the Marina in Winnipeg Beach, where he and Jan had a house boat. A Celebration of Scott's Life will be held on Friday, October 7, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in The Pantages Playhouse Theatre, 180 Market Avenue, Winnipeg. A sincere thank-you to the Fire / Paramedic Responders and the 911 operator for their excellent care and support. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200-6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6. Scott was a terrible tease to us (his female cousins and sister Barb) whenever we were lucky enough to have his mom and dad bring the whole family out to one of the family farms during the summer. Even though we rarely saw each other over the past several years due to distance and getting on with our grown up lives, I will always miss his spirit of fun and time with his whole family - Uncle Doug, Auntie Doe, Grant, Barb, and Kent. Prayers are with you all. - Posted by: Joanne () on: Oct 07, 2016
