EDITH HARRIS (nee SCOTT) We are saddened to announce the passing of our mother, Edith Harris, on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at the age of 94 years. She will be deeply missed by her sons, Bryan (Eva) and Grant; daughter, Wendy; grandchildren, Maureen (Michael), Grayson (Victoria), Quinton (LiYin), Kristjan (Amelia), Eton (Ming), Bailey (Rob), Hillery (Graham), Laine (Luc) and Courtney (John); as well as her 13 great-grandchildren. Also, left to mourn are her good friends Lance Denoon and Lenny Settler. She was predeceased by her daughter, Debbie; and the one man in her life, Bill Harris. Edith loved her winters spent in Florida, her summers at the cottage at Falcon Lake and on the family boat on Lake Winnipeg. On that boat, the 'Wendebee', she entertained countless Winnipeggers and even Prince Charles and Princess Anne. Edith loved to bowl and curl, and was a great fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and Saskatchewan Roughriders. She was also an avid reader and a keen traveler. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family: Sunday dinners, picnics, car rides, whatever brought the family together. A dry sense of humour, coupled by Edith's love of a good story made her fun to be around. We will miss watching her make the stuffing for the turkey, eating the world's best fudge cake, receiving her phone calls just to ask what we are having for dinner, and having her squeeze your hand and call you "Dear" in that special way only she did. Edith was a wonderful person who brought much joy to all whose life she touched. She has blessed her family with countless beautiful memories and many valuable life lessons. She will be dearly missed. In compliance with Edith's wishes a private family Service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
